History, description, mission statement etc.
A dual function library serving both national and public library services. First established as a trust library under the name Carnegie Library in 1910. Was administered by the government in 1970 and renamed as the National Library in 1977. Moved to its present premises in 1994 where it was named the Seychelles National Library

Mission:
- providing public services for educational and recreational needs of all individuals, thus leading to a cultured nation
- providing national services for standardization and bibliographic control of the country's literature, for posterity
